Maintenance Backlog Rationalisation

Providing an auditable reduction in backlog hours and implementing simple, workable strategies for keeping backlog low.

Through rigorous examination of outstanding work requests PI Asset Integrity Ltd can give clear identification of threats to safety or operational performance through focused analysis of the backlog.

In general, backlogs are measured by the number of man-hours outstanding which are required to be worked, in order to bring the process back in line. This count, does not give clear indication of the state of an installation and its vulnerability to plant failure.

By assessing and determining criticality, a more focused approach can be implemented to ensure resource is efficiently utilised and work prioritised effectively.

A first pass assessment of the backlog is performed to identify: duplicate, unwanted or finished work. Then, by developing and implementing simple and auditable strategies, the remaining backlog hours can be successfully managed and reduced.
